CWC to meet Sunday to approve exact schedule for election of Congress President
The Congress Doing the job Committee (CWC), the party’s greatest selection-creating body, will keep a digital conference on Sunday to approve the actual routine of dates for the election of the Congress President.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi will preside above the CWC conference. “A digital conference of the CWC will be held on the 28th August, 2022 at 3:30 PM, to approve the actual agenda of dates for the election of the Congress President. Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi will preside about the CWC conference,” Congress General Secretary K C Venugopal explained on Twitter.
The Congress President will sign up for the conference almost from overseas as she is travelling for medical test-ups. Previous Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi and Common Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are also accompanying her.
There have been several calls by leaders publicly exhorting Rahul Gandhi to turn out to be bash chief once again but uncertainty and suspense carry on to loom around the party’s presidency conundrum.
Rahul Gandhi had resigned as Congress President following the social gathering experienced its second consecutive defeat in parliamentary elections in 2019. Sonia Gandhi, who took about the reins of the party once again as interim president, experienced also offered to stop in August 2020 right after an open revolt by a section of leaders, referred to as G-23, but the CWC had urged her to continue.
